You have to ask???
06/23/2002 01:19:00 AM
I don't know.

This is nighttime, the ultimate shadow, I suppose. But it's just not compelling.

I like the use of light and dark in this picture, it works well. Good job. Score 6 -------- Corey

I guess it is, but the lack of contrast detracts from the shot IMO.
06/20/2002 11:04:00 AM
it's an interesting shot. unusual shadows, but something very resonant in the picture for me.

I think it is, shadows its not only reflejos de objetos contraposicionados a la luz ......es mas es el principio de la oscuridad..... me gusta la foto es bastante limpia

Very nice composition. I think it's a shadowy enough photo to meet the challenge :)
06/19/2002 12:59:00 AM
NO it is a dark picture in B&W.
06/18/2002 10:52:00 PM
sure it is, and very well done too
06/18/2002 04:11:00 PM
It seems to be to me.

You don't know? Mostly you have reflected light off the cement, what were you after? Technically all dark things are shadows of something, so yes, by the strictest interpretation of the word, you have shadows. I think the idea was to create an image based on the shadow pattern. Do you see a pattern? Photo 7 Creativity 4 Shadows 5 total 5

To answer your title: yes. But they are not quite the main focus of the pic as I would've hoped for the challenge. To me, the focus is more overall darkness. Apart from that, nice composition, the eye is lead all the way along to the fence. Overall, the pic is a little too dark on my comp, there are details that I would like to be able to see.

I would say there are a number of shadows here, so yes... I like it a lot. The darkness of the foreground makes it seem like night, but the light sky in the background suggests daylight - an interesting contrast.

Dark Shadows

I love the mood of your photo. Yes, of course it's a shadow.
06/17/2002 09:03:00 PM
I love this shot, but I don't like the cropping/framing. I wish the 4 lines coming towards me were equally distant from the top/bottom of the photo -- as I think that would really make this effect come to life.
06/17/2002 07:03:00 PM
In my opinion, no. Good technically, though.
06/17/2002 05:19:00 PM
What is the subject here?
06/17/2002 04:46:00 PM
I like the shadows and the contrasts in this photo.. I wonder what it would look like as a horizontal shot with about the bottom half cropped out? The dead space on the bottom third of the photo bugs me a little...
06/17/2002 03:20:00 PM
Nice dof and perspective.
06/17/2002 03:15:00 PM
If you want to look at night as shadow.... Interesting picture.
06/17/2002 02:31:00 PM
far too dark!
06/17/2002 01:48:00 PM
IMO, no. just darkness.
06/17/2002 01:36:00 PM
no, I give it a 1
06/17/2002 09:35:00 AM
I would have cropped up (and down from the top a tad) to make this landscape. It seems like there is too much blah dark space in the foreground. Where's the shadow that attracted you to this image? I *do* like it though.
