| mci - i had just gotten my polarizer when i took this shot. i'm sorry you don't like it, but i feel this is one of the best shots i've ever done. i'm not upset about the score so much, because i think it got in the crossfire of the silhouette vs. shadow debate--though i wish it would have done a little better. i'm also not too upset that it didn't do so well for reasons you know. :) thanks for your comment, though; to everyone else as well for their kind comments. |

| hey marc, to be honest, i'm not the biggest fan of this shot. the halo effect is cool, and the sillhouette is nice, but it's just a wierd part of the building that doesn't do much for me. and the angles are all fucked up. heh. and you took this before you got a polarizer, but it could have really benefited from one. |

| My first impression was that the amount of sky is too dominant, but at second glance I think you framed/cropped it very well. Very good photo! |

VERY Nice. Simple, effective and dramatic. Great exposure, focus, composure. One of the top shots this week.

| I don't know how the shadow vs. sillhouette discussion ended in the forum, but I'm firmly in the 'they are not the same' camp, so in my mind, you didn't really meet the challenge. For a sillhouette shot though, I really like this one. Interesting shapes, nice contrast, like the white just behind the tower that slowly turns to blue as you get further away. |
