This is how these young ladies have fun? While an interesting shot, it could be improved with some sharpening, which should be done after resizing. It would also help if the background were blurred by using a low f/stop, which I realize isn't possible with all cameras nor very effective with many due to small CCDs.

Decent rotated shot of a slightly worn and somewhat dirty shoe. Perhaps it is a cultural thing, but I don't get the connection with the title.

When the challenge is over please write up a "how'd he do that" for this shot. Very good work, the coloring effect does much to bring out the subject and strengthen the photograph. Very nice work!

Good composition with decent lighting and clear focus. The background texture is a bit deep and the color doesn't contrast quite as well as one might like.
I've said this before and will probably get blasted for it, but it isn't meant as a personal slam at all. Generally it is considered "recycled art" to photograph the artwork of someone else unless the photograph itself has an unusually artistic quality that goes beyond an accurate recording of the original art piece. I lean toward this line of thinking and as such, give high marks for the quality of the image, but low marks for creative artistry.

Yum! (I'll bet a lot of people commented like that too) The composition works here, but I notice the foreground isn't in focus though the back part of the icecream is in focus. One thing that might help here is to use some unsharp mask, which should be done after resizing to 640x480.

There are so many good shots this week and here is yet another that I am taken with. The backlighting and low angle work extremely well here. Very good job!

Wonderful posing and what a great subject! What a smile! I do however think it could be better with a less distracting background.

I like the concept of taking something simple and capitalizing on the color and geometric form. Photographically there are some problems with lighting, noisi, and contrast. Some of the highlights are blown out, especially on the green piece. I'm not sure why there is so much noise, but if you have PhotoShop elements, PhotoPaint or some such program, then you can remove some of the noise. I would suggest increasing the color saturation and possibly the contrast too. I'll assume some of these problems are related to the camera so I'm scoring a bit higher than I otherwise might have based on the creativity and composition, which are good.

Kind of a postcard view. Nice composition, I'm glad that you got the whole tree in the shot. It would be a little better if the lighting were such that there were no shadow in front. It makes it difficult to see the door and detail in the wood work.
