4OldLykes-PascoTruck-February2008--(101)-V4.jpgby 777STANComment: Stan, where is the soapbox in the picure? Loved the sermonette but guess in this world wide web thingy we are all after instant gratification?
Nice job on the pp'ing though maybe a little sepia toning would have aged this a little more? |

7- Twirlingby BudComment: Bud, this is just fantastic! Your choice of image positioning in the triptych is unusual but works well, the location couldn't be better as it shows her in a natural setting doing what little girls do. Her expressions are just wonderful #1 preperation, #2 wow look at this and #3 I nailed it!
#2 is the winning shot for me as her feet are ballerinaish (look, I made up a word). Its a perfect sequence Bud and, rather than print the triptych get 3 8*10's, frame them and hang them like the triptych! |

Week 4: Happy V-Day <3by Blue MoonComment: lol at your comment Leah however, you can never get too much of a good thing (unless its a dpc thing). We are in a side challenge so anything goes, in fact, its good to see 'Cliché' shot here and the fotogs take on it.
The Rose has a good depth to it but would like to see some 'white' whites in the petals and centered works fine here :) |

Week 3: A Day at the Beachby Blue MoonComment: Cool sp Leah :) My inital thoughts were that I'd like 'you' to be sharper (face and hair) but now the softness is growing on me. Your left eye and the sunray are great and make this shot. Not sure of the border and might consider cropping from your ear and losing the vertical part of the frame from left and right. Sadly though that would lose the lovely curve of your neck (and think I should stop there lol). |

Week 06 - Caffe Tossiby KenComment: Nothing more to add sorry, its a very good conversion with excellent exposure, a very crisp and clean shot :) |

Week 7by chris48083Comment: hehe, love the riders 'oh sh*t* expression. Normaly I'd want this to be tack sharp with an oof bg but it sort of works as it is, kind of gritty and a capture of the moment. The thin horizontal line across his chest is a little distracting to me though. |

Abandoned (b&w 2008 #4)by nikolaosComment: Excellent composition here and a very good conversion to B&W. My only niggle is the blown out sky in the centre and as it looks as if you used everything you could for a slow exposure to blur the sea a little. Maybe multiple exposures would have worked better (am trusting you used a tripod?). Other than the sky I can't fault this, and, whilst not a lover of frames (especialy fancy ones) I think you proved that the right frame for the right picture is more judgement than luck and suits the image well. |

Cameron Bridgeby BAMartinComment: lol at all the leading lines comments :) Just went and checked your submission, guess the voters just saw a baby and not a 20 foot baby? am sure this would have scored higher.
Nice geometric lines in this unusual but pleasing composition. Love the sky though it always shows up sensor dust, can just spot one ickle bit here so you have a nice clean sensor :) |

Week 07 - Stoneby hajekaComment: Love it! simple subject, simple background yet works so well. Nice composition and exposure :) It was mentioned earlier but there is a little 'noise' or pp leftovers on the left of the rock and top right. I suffer from it lots as I have a dark monitor so when working with dark backgrounds now I create a new layer, hit the shadow/highlight tool then selct the layer below and burn the niggly spots away before deleting the shadow/highlight layer - works a treat :) |

Week 6: Vigilby muz64Comment: hehe, I think its funny that commenters mention the kangaroo (singular) in the background though to be honest if I'd not read your comment Murray I may not have spotted the third Kangaroo either ;)
The front 'roo is just a little over exposed for my liking. I do love the fact he is listening both to his left and keeping one ear on you (just in case).
Its also nice to see that although your lens is built for macro work you understand its a much more versatile lens than most people think! |
