birdsandblooms.jpgby icu1965Comment by GregoryB: Hi Jess - nice shot, and yes they do look like a form of starling we have over here. Real pests - get into your gutters and roofs.
As with your other photo of the ducks, have you noticed that there is a magenta tinge to the, I think, sunny or glarey side of the black parts of these birds. Can you shoot in RAW with this camera because if you can there is a facility to correct chromatic aberration when you load the file into photoshop |

birdsandblooms1.jpgby icu1965Comment by shalrath: That's a bit of CA (chromatic aberration) you're seeing around the birds. Try using a 'Hue/Saturation' Layer in Photoshop or equivelent.
1. Add the hue saturation layer.
2. Select the magenta channel.
3. Now move your cursor out into the image and select the magenta part of the outline around the birds.
4. Back in the hue/sat dialogue you have now selected to work on that colour; play with the hue and saturation sliders until the outline looks natural (sometimes completely desaturating them is the way to go).
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the green channel.
6. Using the layer mask, ensure that the rest of the image was not affected by your edit. If you need further help or clarification, send me a PM. |
