Like the composition of ducks and the ripples/small waves in the water, it gives the sense of motion. |

I believe the CA is actually from the lens, not a digital thing. The method shalrath suggested may take some time, but it's worth it for those special shots. |

Nice shot - I can't help with the CA but the ducks are Scaup - I can't tell whether Greater or Lesser - you either have to see them together to tell by size or in flight to tell by the wing bars. Judging by the little crown on the male I'm guessing Lesser. I can't see on your profile where you're from - I'm guessing the US where these are fairly common - I saw one over here once years ago but they are very rare visitors. |

At one point, I could have told you what the top one is; we have them around here quite a bit. However, my brain is blank right now. :/ Definitely, I think, (grin) chromatic aberration -- it's a digital thing. If what shalrath said doesn't help, or if you want to try to prevent it, you could do a forum search, or a google search. I know I've seen it discussed, extensively in some places. |

You caught the pair in a great pose looking simultaneously in the same direction. I can just feel how cold that water is. I don't recognize them, either. |

It kind of looks cold but the ducks seem very happy and cute..... |

Nice image, but I too see the CA that shalrath mentioned. Excellent comment too from him telling you how to correct it. That has to be one of truly most helpful comments you get. |

I don't know what kind they are either. Ducks are such funny birds. They have a dry sense of humor for waterfowl. ;) |

That's a bit of CA (chromatic aberration) you're seeing around the birds. Try using a 'Hue/Saturation' Layer in Photoshop or equivelent.
1. Add the hue saturation layer.
2. Select the magenta channel.
3. Now move your cursor out into the image and select the magenta part of the outline around the birds.
4. Back in the hue/sat dialogue you have now selected to work on that colour; play with the hue and saturation sliders until the outline looks natural (sometimes completely desaturating them is the way to go).
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the green channel.
6. Using the layer mask, ensure that the rest of the image was not affected by your edit. If you need further help or clarification, send me a PM. |

Ohhhh, I am going to love your creative photos this month. I love these birds. They are so photogenic. They look so sweet -- almost like pets :)
