becoming oneby rozComment by streetpigeon: I gave this an 8, Roz, my highest mark. The light imbues every part of the image with sparkling, enthusiastic life. I love how the tree and the side of the building play together -- it's as if the tree is trying to draw the building into dancing. It's a joyful interplay. I like the grassy expanse which spreads throughout. It's a lovely photograph.
My theory about why it hasn't received a higher result is that some people felt that it didn't have sufficient "building." Their literal threshold wasn't met. My personal opinion is that such an approach is narrow-minded and tosses away many fine images that merely include the challenge subject in a larger whole. In other words, artistry is given short shrift. So likewise regard these marks with a shrug of the shoulder and a soupcon (with that squiggle under the c) of pity. |

A very original style of portrait, the kind of casual interaction that, all told, day after day, is the sum of childhood and being a Mom. Your arm must have become stretched out from changing so many diapers. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow. |
