 done for the Gratitude in May Side challenge

this is my daughter's cat Molly ..
molly was a rescue and was separated from her mother when she was too young ..
she cant meow properly and is quite anxious ..
but she is the best model ... she gets up on her scratching post thingo and i cant help taking photos of her .. i think she poses for me .. and she doesnt mind in the least the flash going off .. and doesnt mind however many photos i take ..

ppl often question me using the flash .. not realizing that natural light doesn't always work .. even with the light coming in the window i cant expose her bright enough without going up too high in the iso ..

so i'm not only grateful for my willing model .. but grateful that i have a portable light source ..

update .. for Margaret marnet .. light source is the flash .. !! . ;)

So what is your portable light source?
PS Do you mean Molly or do I need more concentration and memory? ;)

So this is your daughter's portable light source? ;-) Beautiful portrait. Being very photogenic is the only thing I like about cats. :)

This came out really nice, the detail in her fur is quite amazing. I agree with you on the flash to bring out the details and I've also noticed that cats are pretty complacent about that. Generally, when they've had enough they'll just get up and walk away.

Molly is brewing a plot. For sure. Behind this accommodating behaviour....perhaps she wants to be a photographer also.
Using a flash never crossed my mind and we do have a totally black cat in our family.
