i enjoyed your story .. all the pics that you have just posted show that you are a very caring person .. the birds .. your roses .. etc .. its a shame the hawk cant have a feed of the chickens .. lol .. but hopefully he and his mate will find something edible soon .. that hawk .. he looks a bit bedraggled .. its a very harsh environment you live in .. even tho its not a great quality pic .. 100 yards point and shoot .. its still got a lot going for it ..:)

lovely that you have a haven for the birds .. and its not even strange that you would say that you encourage them to tell their friends ..
when i put out seed its like they do tell each other .. firstly a couple of rosellas might come by and have a feed .. before long there will be a few cockatoos and then the king parrots .. its amazing their communication .. almost beyond our understanding ... well mine anyway ..
this is beautiful btw .. the intense sky in the background .. and the snow .. what a dramatic contrast . and there's that bird .. hanging on to the branch with his little feet . sooooo cute . :)

I feel like there's a texture applied here, but I may be wrong - in any case, the textural look overall has the effect of making the icicles seem to have frozen into and of a piece with the blue sky and snow beyond it, which is very fitting :)
