 This guy was sitting on my garden gate, gazing lustfully at my hens (who were, fortunately, in a covered run and safe from his claws...) He flew off and circled overhead when I came running out and settled again on a fence post about 100 yards away. Then his mate joined him for a moment. This was taken with my small point and shoot from said 100 yards away. We have been keeping an eye out for him. Our rooster, Hagrid, has been on watch duty as well. The chickens have been on lock down for awhile now. No free ranging until a little later.

Fine composition. The colors and patterns take the day here. However it's processed, I like this very much.

i enjoyed your story .. all the pics that you have just posted show that you are a very caring person .. the birds .. your roses .. etc .. its a shame the hawk cant have a feed of the chickens .. lol .. but hopefully he and his mate will find something edible soon .. that hawk .. he looks a bit bedraggled .. its a very harsh environment you live in .. even tho its not a great quality pic .. 100 yards point and shoot .. its still got a lot going for it ..:)
