And Fallsby TranquilComment by Rikki: IMHO the dark areas around the image helps frame it. The hotspots on the rocks aren't as distracting as I look at the images again. I also like the fact that the water is not portrayed as smooth and silky. Mother Nature's true power is unleashed in this image due to your capture of the water :) Great shot! |

Flutter-By IIby TranquilComment by Rikki: Was this a studio setup? It's almost always hard to get a little critter like this to stay put... let alone on a nice white background :) Amazing contrast of colors. I like that it's off center and this definitely follows the rules of thirds to the point :) |

Spike a Drink by TranquilComment by Virus610: Very tacktical photographing here. The green was an excellent choice of colour for this. I don't think any other colour would have done quite as well. Kudos for that title too. I'm most fascinated by the way the water (Assuming that is your liquid of choice..) splashed up in the back, in a quasi-serpentine way. Congrats on 1st place. |

Sidelongby TranquilComment by jpochard: This was the best of your series I think. For me, the reason has mostly to do with the lighting of the face and the eyes. I think in a portrait the eyes are so important. This has a nice, natural feel to it, and the emphasis is on her face. Very nice job. |

Dan and Reneeby TranquilComment by jpochard: This is a nice portrait. The lightness of her shirt is a little distracting since most of the shot is rather dark. The lighting is pretty good, although I think maybe just a little harsh. I would also like to see the tones warmed up just a bit. Those are all minor things, but hopefully will be of some help for you. Nice job with not overexposing things and getting fairly even lighting. |

Beauty Is In...by TranquilComment by Joey Lawrence: i fink ur thilly
great picture, the detail in the eye is very cool. It would be cool to paint over those reflections in the pupil... Yeah yeah I know, I edit too much. |

Artificialby TranquilComment by Joey Lawrence: So lee-baby this is a good picture, I'm still trying to figure out how you got it. Maybe from a tall building window or sometihng, or something along the lines of flying. It met the challenge well and looks very dodged-and-burned with the big unsharp mask and contrast, very nice idea to compensate for a basic editing challenge. |
