Bayshore Promenade by roleychiuComment: Wow.
The image just begs you to enter it from the left side and then the starkness of the right side slams you back to remind you that you're seeing a photo. This image works on so many levels for me I find it difficult to explain.
Firstly the architecture is superb. You selected a great subject and shot it from a wonderful perspective. You caught the curved railing perfectly to use it to make the viewer feel the picture is organic and responsive in nature. The equally lined righthand side utilizes straight lines and brightness to uses more defined angles and straight edges to engender a feeling of mental rigidity.
The only thing I would be interested in seeing different is cropping the front of the boat out of the lefthand side of the image.

gettin' down/ a night on the townby pupparazzoComment: Good composition and I like the cropping you chose. Cutting out the right edge of the glass and the back of the woman's head give this image an edginess that makes the viewer feel like he's in the photo's action.
I wish the image wasn't so grainy but I'm guessing that is a product of the size limitations.
Good idea and good execution. |

Night sightings reflected...by puppy52Comment: Good idea, but the surface where the reflections are is blurry. Maybe I'm just missing something on the righthand side of the photo. |

Fudgiesby irockstarsComment: I like the coloration and the angles on this. Good composition.
I think I would like to see the same picture but with someone standing outside, maybe smiling at the photographer. I think that would humanize the picture and draw the view into the setting more. |

Dear Johnby orussellComment: Good subject and creative idea. A subject many viewers can feel engaged by. It presents a personal situation.
I would like to see a copy of this in black and white to see what kind of impact it evokes but I think this presentation is much better than a color version. |

"The Question"by tfarrell23Comment: The creative nature of this image doesn't speak to me. The composition, however, is good. I love the contrasting angles of the page, the margin and the words leading in different directions and the contrasting spots on the edges of the pages. The smooth ink overlaying the textured page also present this image as solid composition. I'd score this image much higher for a different challenge but for the current contest it just doesn't inspire me. |

The Floaterby RiderGalComment: If the title is supposed to put the viewer in mind of a body found floating (many police shows seem to refer to corpses in the water as floaters), then the composition would have had more impact if the subject were dressed for work or religious service or something other than swimming. The artists toes in the frame also hint that this was a day at the lake as she (?) isn't dressed to pull a corpse from the river.
Good idea though. |

Why?by johnmkComment: Cute kid but I don't find it intriguing. The eyes are too clear and alert, the forehead isn't furrowed and the lips aren't pursed in looking for an answer.
That's just my opinion. |
