This photo was taken at my grandma's farm in New York. The person in the pond is my mother.... I asked her just to float and think about life. The toes on the dock belong to me. The farm is the most important place to me in the world... and it has a long history.... I'm not sure if this works for unanswered questions... but I guess this is my best entry. Thanks!

It's definately an interesting image. Can't decide which works better with it they way you have it or if it would have worked better cropping everything out but your Mom and letting it appear as if she was floating in mid air.

Not matter which you would do it still leaves some unanswered questions about the photo.

I am guessing this was a pond and that is how you got the water so dark. Your focus here is really good not only are your toes in focus so is your Mom.

It really is a cool interuptation for the challenge. Nicely done.

Really interesting shot. I find the reflection and shadow in the lower right corner a little distracting, but it is very minor and I had to work hard to even find that suggestion.

Why would this need to be validated by the administrators? Great picture.

Great looking shot. I like the composition. How did you ever get the water so black without darking the white visor.

I love the photographer's feet in this shot, and the relaxed expression on the floater's face. Very tranquil.

If the title is supposed to put the viewer in mind of a body found floating (many police shows seem to refer to corpses in the water as floaters), then the composition would have had more impact if the subject were dressed for work or religious service or something other than swimming. The artists toes in the frame also hint that this was a day at the lake as she (?) isn't dressed to pull a corpse from the river.

Good idea though.
