flowby RetroesqueComment: As an image, this benefits from the contrast between the upright faucet and (nicely smoothed) water stream compared to the diagonal rays. Lighting creates interest and fits the high tech chrome and glass feel. Tall spouts are beautiful as well as extra functional (deep pots are easier to fill). Living with one makes it hard to put up with the standard short ones found almost everywhere. |

12-june 09 where i live. instinctsby rozComment: Of course, the lessons from this image are that 1) great light can be found without getting out away somewhere, and 2) the best entries for "where I live" come from right at home. Glad you posted it. |

Lovers' Leapby GermaineComment: Kissing is dangerous, with risk of broken heart a lot of the time, and (a picture is worth a thousand words) with risk of broken bones sometimes. Love? Maybe - hope endures against all odds. Hormones? Almost certainly. Brings back echos of a grandma scolding: "If your friends went over the edge of a cliff, would that make it just fine for you too?". |

Oldie But Goodieby GermaineComment: Instead of wishing for an uncluttered background, this image makes me appreciate the reverberations of color between the car, umbrellas, roof tiles, and even the sign. |

(June 11th) Richmond SPCAby WickedSoundComment: Stark hallway with swinging doors evokes a sense of hospital or clinic. Interesting to hear about bright colors being used (probably helps set a positive mood). Contrast and tonal range handled well. |

Christian-Fellowship-reflec.jpgby jomariComment: Excellent composition with multiple contrasts, old/new, colorful/monochrome, lines/waves, secular/religious, and more. Great playground for philosophical musings. |

12 Honjo Parkby ordinaryangelComment: Formal symmetry works well in this park setting, and the star patterns lend a decorative and almost festive counterpoint to the otherwise somber mood of a dark setting. |

Platform 3by MelethiaComment: Capturing a sense of rain is harder than it looks. The splashes the train makes and the reflections on the platform, waterdrops in puddles, and rain streaks across the train windshield really do the trick. Waiting until there were no people waiting out there addes extra emphasis. |

Kayak Rentalby GermaineComment: This could haved been an entry in the Impressionism challenge a while back. Colors handled very well. |

IMG_2993-Graffiti-Alley.jpgby jomariComment: Timing to get the person in mid-stride was perfect. The little group of circular symbols with diagonal slashes conveys a full set of authoritarian "don't do this or that" instructions where little official attention exists. Artful on many levels. |
