Brave attempt. Hope your subject didn't mind, and I am glad the top of the image stopped where it does. :-)
Seriously -- a different lighting scheme may have made the picture a little more effective. Also, the "subject" that is to be stopped is almost indistinguishable at first -- it fades into the background.

I liked this picture immediately. The atmosphere of the picture says "Everything has stopped -- time is standing still." Beautiful colors, nice contrast. If only the person's hand (?) wasn't a little blurry.

As for color -- tried it. When the images were side by side there were very few differences. The color image showed the seal around the drain as tan instead of gray, and there were few miniscule spots of blue from the reflections on the water.
As per a lower angle -- wanted to, didn't want to get the camera wet!
Ice cream is GONE! :-)
