As for color -- tried it. When the images were side by side there were very few differences. The color image showed the seal around the drain as tan instead of gray, and there were few miniscule spots of blue from the reflections on the water.
As per a lower angle -- wanted to, didn't want to get the camera wet!
Ice cream is GONE! :-)

neat idea

The lack of contrast flattens the impact of this picture.
04/20/2002 08:58:00 AM
A very busy image, I like it.

Oops, I see the spoon. Would rather not have

Stainless Water!

Like the effect of water on ice-cream scoop. Would have loved to have seen this taken from a lower angle - maybe running along the handle

very nicely timed. good ripples. and the upshot is almost impossible! great work.

black and white was a good choice, and the framing's pretty nice too, but it doesn't completely grab me.

I like this, however my eyes are drawn away from the spoon to the lower left corner away from the action.

This is missing something. Not really sure what, just feel like it's missing something.
04/17/2002 04:57:00 PM
Very cool-looking.
04/17/2002 03:57:00 PM
Good timing, but needs a bit of colour to help contrast the water with the metal background
04/17/2002 11:06:00 AM
yum. ice cream. i like the splash pattern here.
04/16/2002 06:03:00 PM
Why the choice of black and white? Were the colors really that boring?
04/16/2002 03:46:00 PM
Definitely frozen in time! Nice shot.
04/16/2002 02:42:00 PM
black and white does well for water, i like this picture.

Cool idea. You got the water droplets frozen in mid air.
04/16/2002 12:38:00 PM
Very good. I like the splatter effect you achieved.
04/15/2002 06:42:00 PM
oh boy
04/15/2002 04:16:00 PM
interesting shot, good composure and exposure - good use of B&W
04/15/2002 02:16:00 PM
The lighting effect really makes the droplets look frozen!
04/15/2002 02:00:00 PM
water.. go figure
04/15/2002 10:42:00 AM
I think this would have worked better if it was in color.
04/15/2002 10:00:00 AM
Neat idea. :)

Verrry nice. Like the subtle tones, the composition the perfect frezing of action. It shows us smomething we don't see with our naked eyes.

where's the ice cream??
04/15/2002 09:27:00 AM
I usually love b/w shots, but I think color would have really made this shot better.
04/15/2002 08:29:00 AM
very well done

Nice entry! I like the spash created by the ice cream scoop. I would like this photograph much better with a different perspective. For some reason, I don't like the drain and scoop being cut by the edge of the photo. I think this may have been more dramatic shot from a different angle or cropped differently.

The plug hole gets in the way and spoils the background. Quite good, lots of motion
