milking by hand...by AesculapiusComment: amazing shot... country life :) A farmer milking his cow... the age of the man and the look on his face reveal a life of hard work, which is common in rural life. Everyone works hard... pulls his own weight... provides for his family.. and smiles while doing it :) I have had the opportunity to visit environments like this one in the past... this photo makes me remember the scent of the places... the mood... the sounds... Kudos on a beautiful photo... = 10 |

When the Pickin's Done by dsidwellComment: This is a really neat photo... I love the 'laid back' theme of rural life and living in the country. The banjo adds a lot here for me as well. I can almost hear the birds chirping and the babbling brook... the sounds that this photo seem to pronounce make it work nicely... excellent work :) |

..::: Eternal Country Life :::.. (in Infrared)by DavenitComment: I love good infrared photos, and this one is no exception. I think your theme here is very strong also. This composition screams of 'death' and 'solitude' in some rural cemetery on a lonely country road. The infrared creates a lot of good tension in this photo by illuminating the greenery into the normal IR glow mode. This is an excellent entry for this challenge. I don't like the title... I think there is a lot of room for creative improvement there :) Kudos on a great shot... = 10 |

Country Cliche by Girl from OZComment: I think this is a beautiful photo of a country/rural environment. I wish you had put half as much thought into the titles as you did the photo :) I believe that a title is an integral part of the photo when they are both presented together. Your title makes me feel like you don't really care much for the image. This photo, for me, is a 'window into the past' or 'retrospective view' or 'time portal' or something that supports/enhances the essence of what you have captured in this image. This photo is obviously well thought out and well executed. After planning and pursuing a nice image like this, why not take the extra effort to 'put the cherry on top' with a nice title? = 9 |

Rockin on the Porchby boyte1Comment: Laid back... relaxed... happy... all elements of a strong image of rural life. He looks like a hard working man. A hard day's work is usually a part of life in the country. The straw in his mouth really adds a nice element here as well. The toning also lends itself nicely to the mood of the image. This photo definitely gets a 10. My only complaing is that I would rather see it larger to accent some of the detail of the environment here... great work... |
