Freedomby PERCOMComment: This is a very nice photo. I like it quite a bit and I will vote it accordingly, but I'm afraid that this photo will suffer for not meeting the challenge in any way. |

Queen of Heartsby vadviragComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Marta :)
I really enjoy this photo. This is one of the relatively few instances of desaturating all but one color that seems to work very nicely. I see this technique used here frequently but can rarely determine the reason for it. Red is a color of strength and power and you have used that to your advantage in this photograph.
I also like the composition you have chosen in this still life. You created an interesting diagonal with the card and anchored that to the corner of the frame with the rose. This photo exhibits the fact that you have a good eye for composition :)

You have also just created the highest scoring photo on DPChallenge with your model of camera :) This supports the fact that the camera is NOT the deciding factor in whether a photo is great or not :)
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing much more from you :)

"A Whisper of Roses"by goinskiingComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
I love dried roses and I have seen a lot of great photos of them in the past. It's quite peculiar to me how something can die and dry up and still hold a lot of strength in its own beauty.
I think that too much of this image is out of focus to provide a good overall impact. The depth of field you chose here is a bit too shallow for the closeup range in which you were working.
I believe you can also see how difficult it can be to create a perfectly white background :)
I think you have a strong subject opportunity here and with a little work, I think you can perfect this photo in those two areas that I mentioned :)
