Nice little snapshot - and a good take on the challenge. Image is quite noisy though. Good, atmospheric backlighting.

Great emotive shot. It mght have been good to capture the whole shadows in the foreground, and to meter off of the brighter areas to eliminate the overexposure and blooming at the top right. The subjects work well as sillouettes, so they can be darker without loss of the impact. Nice catch.

Great content. The light coming off of the water in the upper right side is a bit much though.

The reflection on the wet sand is a little too bright, especially around the guy's head. Other than that it's a good candid shot.

Bad points: Bad exposure. Over exp'ed in the top, under ex'ped on the people. Composition could do with a bit more room up top or less below.
Good points: nice choice for a B&W shot. It suits well
Overall Score: 4

Adorable! What a moment you've captured, familiar to us all, but perhaps not cherished enough. The glow of the beach light, the silver of the water catching these folks in almost silouette is perfect, Makes them less individuals and more archetypes - Woman, dog, baby, man - helps the viewer to put themselves in the place of your subjects. I wish all of the shadows were included at the bottom and not cropped. But lovely as it is. 8

This is a nice scene and the little child is just like my little grand child
The glare from the sea is a bit bright but overall a nice photo

Great candid shot. Shame the guy's head is a little washed out, but that is a minor critism as this is a great shot.

Despite all the technical limitations: Highlight blowout, lens flare, noise in the shadows, I really like this scene. The composition and subject choice works great. I can definitely feel the joy of the little boy towards the dog. His forward positioning and expression express this.
And there is just enough detail to see the joy of the girl about this. I can even imagine the way the father (or grandfather?) enjoys the boy's encouter with animals. The dog seems excited too.
It is photos like this that make me wish I had a little lad to take care off, it reminds me so much of my own youth (memory like an elephant). :)
Verry happy scene, emotional. Well captured!

nice photo.....black & white is nice

you caught the essence of a family, and in black and white, very good photography, would have been even better if the subject on the far rights head wasn't being attacked by the suns reflection off the water.

Very nice capture. I love the action, the fun, the unexpected pleasure. A 10
