Cold Comfort Farm - Stella Gibbons by StagoleeComment: (Know that I only vote in even numbers.)
A six for you. I like the painterly colors, even though I feel sure they had some "help." The way the sliver of sunset rests between the warm golden clouds and cool green grass is sublime. |

A four for you. I don't mind candid portraits, but your subject looks distracted, or just bored. Technically, it's very good. |

A four for you. A clever composition that wants to be abstract. The lighting is dull, though, and the impact just isn't there. |

A two for you. I'm sorry. If the point of this exercise is honesty, then let me be honest. I hate the processing. The idea is good enough, and it looks like you had some good props. But the girl looks plastic and the car looks cartoonish. Just doesn't work for me. |

A six for you. Nothing here moves me or intrigues me, but technically it's very good, if not perfect. |

A six for you. I like the simplicity of the scene, the touch of early autumn. Nothing here asserts itself. Does feel a bit soft though. |

An eight for you. Good storytelling, and it leaves something to the imagination. I'm not a huge fan of staged shots, but I do rather like this. |

An eight for you. I appreciate that you let the scene speak for itself. No heavy-handed foolishness in Photoshop that would have destroyed all those delicate blues. I'll always reward that. |

A four for you. Nicely composed, focus and exposure is good. I feel the orientation of the spider is wrong. I want to see a spider head, spider eyes and spider teeth. Well, at least something that looks like a head. |

A six for you. Good use of the square frame, nice textures, nice cool tones. I stop at six because I feel it's too perfect -- but that simply means had I been in front of this scene, I'd have done something different. Overall, very nice. |
