I can't believe the score you got, this is amazing.

Obviously he nailed it. :P

Some halos from the selections around the lady really standing out. Noise reduction made the dress seem unreal. Like the old car. :-)

there seems to be something funky going on with her versus the rest of the image, but it may be my eyes :)

(Know that I only vote in even numbers.)

A two for you. I'm sorry. If the point of this exercise is honesty, then let me be honest. I hate the processing. The idea is good enough, and it looks like you had some good props. But the girl looks plastic and the car looks cartoonish. Just doesn't work for me.

There is something very unreal with that woman's dress. Maybe it is according to the book, sorry when I'm mistaken, but it ruins this image for me.

I like the detail in the image. A couple of things, I think, would have made this a better shot. I don't like the dress. It looks superimposed or something, which I am sure she was wearing a dres...looks doctored up or something. If this was an old lady, she could have been remembering "The Great Gatsby" times. That would have been great. The car unfortunately is not from that time period. I know you could take the translation of the picture and title a few different ways, but...

Gave it a 5

You are adorable, Beata. I'm puzzled by the featureless legs and skirt, especially coupled with the rest of the highly textured treatment, but I just LOVE the attitude

Hmm... What's up with the weirdness of the dress? Almost looks like you pasted her in.

And why is everything all soft and weird? It's like there's a glow effect that I would likely expect in a baby's portrait...

In any case, the opulence of the novel would never have included such a scene with the old well worn (and lovely) car, and dirty barn/garage.

I can't help but think this was very close to the mark, but missed it entirely.

Processing taken into account, and the lack of a real fit or story here, I feel that a 4 is appropriate.

Comment Challenge: Something doesn't work with this image. I think it is the woman vs. the car - she looks like she has been photoshopped into the picture - like she is supposed to be sitting on the car, but appears to be too big to be that far back in the image. At the same time, her position is too awkward to be doing anything but sitting on the car. I love the car's cracking paint, missing doors, lights, etc. The pink cast is well done, and if it is too much, just a tad.

Camp as !;) The dress looks absolutely strange using the over saturation. I like the gaiety, you've put quite some effort into the shot, it would make a great advert stock photo. Relates to the novel in a kitsch way.5.

Ha, great clothing choice. But why so smooth? Looks like she was painted in.

Something just doesn't look right with her dress, and it almost looks like she was cut and pasted into the scene. I hope I'm wrong, but that's just the way it looks to me.

every time i look at this, and i've been back to look a few times, i can't see this as a serious single image. the dress, shoes and legs look cartoonish and flat, the boat and glass look directly lit in a way that the area here does not look to be capable of.
there is a fantastic attention to detail on everything else, and while the car may be reminiscent of 'old sports car', it does not seem to fit for the period that Gatsby would be set in, nor would the car be in this state of disrepair.
im giving this a 5

Inspired, yes. Too much processing for my taste, but is just me. What I dislike is the skin that looks like plastic. The smile also a bit off. Good try. 6

Despite the heavy handed approach to the processing this image is strangely appealing. It does look like this image may have been produced using two shots which is against the rules but, of course, I'm voting as if this was achieved within the rules. 6

everyone will tell you that the car is all wrong, but your model embodies the silly drinkiness of the times. 5

Creative visual effect - she looks like a poster cutout pasted onto a photorealistic old car painting. A character transported from the Gatsby country club into a barn. 6 for something different.

I love the skin tones, the pink and the shadows on the arm are terrific. An excellent flapper as well, and the car looks super. (My one small gripe is all that warm pinkish sepia tone kinda takes over)

The woman is long gone, though she is fresh in our imagination, which allows her to cheat death and decay. I'm not sure how that relates to the themes of the book, though I admit I'm rusty on them. I'm giving you a 6 for an image that shakes me up, even if it doesn't take me very far.

The title says you didn't intend a direct tie to the story. The girl fits the stories era, but the rest of the scene doesn't really. Overall an interesting take. My biggest gripe is the excess smoothing on the girl. 5

Wonderful composition, I really like the rusty car and the pose of the woman! But... wow...the processing has killed this so bad! Way too overboard. While HDR/Tonemapping may suit the car and surrounding structure, it is lethal to people. Notice how her legs look like they're made of plastic and how her dress like it's made from wax. I think you had a great image here, I really do but the choice of heavy-handed processing undid it.

Well, we all remember a book differently and my score will not reflect the fact that I have a totally different recollection of this novel.
Your image looks very odd to me from a lot of points of view. It looks like an awkward collage heavily processed.

Something's really wrong with the relationship of the airbrushed skirt and the car. I can't tell if she's been pasted in, or whether it's just generally crappy masking for the soft blur. It just looks REALLY wrong...

Otherwise, it's an amusing take on Gatsby, though of course the car is way out of period. What IS that car anyway? I ought to know, with thise louvers, but I'm drawing a blank.

Anyway, for me it's a 4 vote.
