Shanty Town

Wow! What a fun looking place to photograph and explore. It looks in a way like a ghost town and antique scrap yard all at one time. The place should be a museum of some kind. I like the colors of the vehicles and vegetation with the rusty topped buildings. This would be an awesome place to experiment with painting with light at night.

I enjoy images like this in which I can easily identify what the subjects are, but not the distracting details. It connects on a slightly different level to my preception of the scene, and seems somehow more compelling to see than a sharp focus, stop action shot. This shot is more like a memory than a moment frozen in time.

By your exposure settings I would guess this is a twilight shot. The aircraft trail helps a lot to make the image interesting, and it does look like a meteor crossing the sky.

Yep, they really fixed the trail didn't they? That's a mess of clay and sand you have there in your back yard. I know how much you love to trek up and down it, and it looks like tough walking this season, and will be very rough even after it dries. I hope that they smooth it out some for you later. This is a pretty shot, other than the messy trail. I almost can feel the mud between my toes when looking at the image.
