i know this looks a bit cheesy and this is definitely not my best shot for this month, will probably do quite badly in this challange. but, i loved this guy and loved how children around reacted to him.. i like this photo a lot documenting that moment.

post:
wow, i didn't expect it to score this high! thanks a lot for the comments and faves.

No way to improve on this image. The B&W takes it to a higher level too. Excellent title. The image is a definite eye grabber for me.

I think there must be a word for "a nanosecond of surrealism" and whatever that word is, you have captured it here. Great job.

From your comments, I would say you really undervalued this shot.
It`s excellent both technically and aesthetically.

Very well spotted and processed.

This is outstanding! The manatee(?) looks like something straight out of the movie "Men in Black". Great composition and light here. It's great that we can not only see the manatee, but also the children's reaction to him. The light on the boy's face is wonderful. It would have been a shame if his face had been in shadow!

Well done. Congrats on top 30 in a Free Study!

A photo I am very happy to have seen. Expression, meaning AND really good treatment of luminous beast and dark shadowed bg of children.

I'm afraid that you're going to have to adjust your perception of your own work after this shot. This is not cheesy, it's unbelievably magical, and going into my favorites.

I don't see what you think is cheesy about this photo at all. I like the little story that's going on with how the children are so fascinated with him, yet he seems more concerned with you. He's definitely telling you something with that body language...now to figure out what.

Well done and 'grats on the new PB!

Very cute photo. It really does look as if the walrus is as intent on checking out the kids as they are at checking her out.
