Brick and Brokenby BAMartinComment: Lawyers offices?..Now I have the picture of a "high fa'luten" lawyer sitting in a beat factory! I love the contrast of blue and red brick and the repeating patterns. The crop seems a little tight though cutting off the pillar on the right and the window on the right. It might have been unavoidable though. Can't wait to see more of this building here and in the b/w side challenge. You could do your whole themed topic on this building! |

main-01-16-07-5279.jpgby fixedintimeComment: I agree about the lighting....really nice! I love the red in the roof and the barn nestled into the cedars. I can't help but notice those two tiny little windows in the front that almost look new....curious! |

Small apartment bldg.jpgby sfaliceComment: That is so interesting...I've driven through San Fran and never really knew those buildings had false fronts! I wonder why that ladder is there? Doesn't look like there is much to stand on once you get up there! |

The Hideoutby HipychikComment: I like all the textures here and the great story that this photo tells. The tonal quality is so rich and your conversion is perfect. Great job. |

01 Misty Flightby SandyPComment: This is a stunning example of how you can break the rules and make it work. I'm not talking about the rule of thirds so much as the contrast "rule"...this is such a wonderful high key shot and I love the small tonal range. Very neat how you "composed" this shot too... |

Warehouse Door Detailby BAMartinComment: Awesome Barbara! I'm so glad I found this side challenge and glad to see you in it....I love your abandoned buildings! I wonder what was written on that garage door and why it was removed? You didn't do that in photoshop did you? I can't wait to see more of this sugar beet warehouse! |

4-Ebony&Ivory--002-V4.jpgby 777STANComment: Very nice composition and you have really captured them well. This is a great portrait. I have ieExif so I can right click on your photo and view all the camera info...but that is a neat idea to do a screen capture of it.
Did you handhold this at 300mm 1/30? You have a steady hand if you did! |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment: The texture of the snow make this photo for me. I'm not a fan of the grey thing border, but that is just personal taste. I would think a darker thin border would keep your eyes in the composition more. I do like the shadow and it gives balance to what would have been an unbalanced composition. |

Metroby doc_gonzoComment: Awesome composition! I really like the fact that your eyes are led to complete darkness...it really makes you wonder what is back there! The tones are so dramatic too...very well done. |
