Hiddenby RetroesqueComment: this is gorgeous ... love everything about this image .. that hair is just amazing .. her beautiful skin ... those gorgeous hands .. those finger nails just popping .. it looks like she doesnt want you to photograph her, and the part of her face i can see has a sort'v 'over it' expression .. and even tho our loved one's will put up with having a camera in their faces a lot of the time, they can get a bit fed up on occasion!!! ... my daughter says its like i have a camera growing out'v my face .. i reckon you could be the same lisa .. !!:):)xx |

Death Prevents Livingby RetroesqueComment: i love the message in this image lisa ...
to me its not only our physical death that prevents living (well living in this dimension anyway), but so many ppl die inside and their lives are like a living death .. so much sadness in this world ..
the message in this image for me, is to live our lives to the full, to truly appreciate our time here, which will be over in the blink of an eye .. dont take any of the ppl you love for granted .. support and nourish one and other .. find your passion and then live it .. develop all the wonderful gifts that god has given you .. be kind to one and other .. SMILE!!! ... a smile is like a gift ... one of those wonderful gifts that you still have even after you'v given it away ...
this is not one of my favourite photographs of yours, but i opened it up while looking thru your portfolio for our harajuku girls task, and thought i'd make a comment anyway ... it may not be a fav, but its still an excellent imgage !!

Containedby RetroesqueComment: i'm making my second comment on this which is straight after the last one i made, as i go thru your portfolio trying to decide on the five i'm going to choose as my favs of yours for our harajuku girls inspirational task ..
i love sooooooo many things about this awesome image ... the amount of images i see in dpc is astronomical, but a few remain in my head and are easily remembered .. this is one of them ..
i particularly love the rich, deep and intense colour contrasts going on .. the fantastic dark background with those brooding clouds, seeming to hover ominously over those containers .. i didnt realise at first that the squiggly bits are actually seagulls ... thats another awesome touch ... gotta thank those seagulls!! .. the light shining on the rhs with its perfect shape .. excellent composition .. all the elements in this image work so well ... the story of these containers has been told to perfection !! .. :):)xx |

Rhoda ponders a difficult transition.by shamerComment: well shawn .. you've seriously kicked some butts in this challenge .. congratulations on an excellent photograph and a near pb!!
i was thinking that a chick hatching would go well for this challenge but finding one posed a few problems .. i considered going to the local chicken farm, but felt a bit shy to ask them if i could sit around waiting for an egg to hatch .. (i dont actually know any chicken farms around here but i was assuming there'd be at least one, coz i live in a fairly rural setting ..)
anyway .. enough about chicken farms ..
it appears that your son and your wife are largely responsible for your 4th place in this challenge!!! ..
i dont know why you dont like this image .. it is sooooooo transitions & it tells a story, even tho a bit sad .. lol ...
i particularly like how rhoda's looking intently at that pie with a sort'v questioning expression .. i'm sure animals, and birds in particular, have more intelligence than we give them credit for .. so you may have to bear a burden of guilt, when you realise from rhoda's behaviour, that you've given her a complex by putting her on that table between the egg and pie ... i reckon it would be totaly obvious to the poor chick the inference there .. i'm hoping rhoda will not be living in fear that she'll end up in a pie .. altho from her general demeanour i fear it is the case .. :):) ..

Mr Percivalby emlbakerComment: great shot and i really like your processing ..
i met up with some other dpc ppl this sunday at terrigal, which is north of sydney .. they have pelican feeding there and of course being dpc ppl we took some photographs!! .. i never realised how weird their eyes are coz i'd never seen them up close before .... owen owen, who was there on sunday, has an absolutely incredible pelican shot on his profile page, and when i first saw it i thought he'd photoshopped the eyes!!! .. but they're a very photogenic bird i reckon .. :):)

Born Freeby ShannonLeeComment: i love this one too .. love the way the image is divided by the beam and on one side you have your horse and on the other a butterfly .. the horse enclosed & tame and the butterfly still wild and free .. that's just my take .. :):)xx |
