Camera: Canon PowerShot Pro1
Location: Austin, Tx
Date: Jun 28, 2007
Galleries: Emotive, Digital Art
Date Uploaded: Jun 28, 2007

Composit of 2 bug photos plus one of my son. Mostly cut and paste, clone, healing and smudge tool, dodge and burn after using the Yearbook filter in Virtual Photographer. Did the flood filter in Flaming Pear. Then I ran an acid action to funk up the colors a bit.

Probably won't go over that well and it isn't compositionally perfect, but after nearly 4 hours, I was determined to enter it. ;~D

This is so fun! So after they sucked out his guts, did you still have to feed him?

ha !! ... i remember this one when i looked thru the challenge .. i didnt vote tho .. this is just excellent ... love your idea .. i was thinking of something similar with a bee chasing our dog but there was no sun and i couldnt get a bee without the light coz they move too fast ..
i really love your processing on this and the person looks really scared !! ... after this challenge went in for voting i thought that my entry would'v gone better desaturated which might'v made the flies fit better into the scene .. wotever .. i'm happy with my score when i consider some of the excellent images that went into this challenge .. :):)

Looks like you funked it up pretty good! It got a happy ol' 6 from me. More detail on the human sacrifice woulda bumped it a bit. :)

Nice idea, but I don't really like the contrasty treatment. Might be better if it was a little less over the top.

nice contrast and tones..

I like the overexposed effect but I think it was slightly overdone. You lost detail on the person.

I like the photo. I think the background color is a little too washed out along with the persons shirt. The two sort of blend together. Great Shot!

you see the nice big bugs, but you have to look hard to see the model. I think the model needs to stand out more, and the bugs need to stand out less. I think the more effective movie posters featured the screaming people with hints of whats scaring them.

For me the "high-key" look of this really doesn't work (too much detail missing), but I understand it may have been the only way to make photo work.

It's a pretty good effect, though I think there are details that are too blown out, especially in the girl, whose legs seem to have no connecting body to her arms and head... ;-Þ

Great, but needs a better title.
"Sammy Sosa Left the Cap of the bottle Again"
"OK, Who Switched the Deet with Viagra?"
Nice use of the Flood Plug-in. And you thought no one would notice!

Almost missed the girl the first time... not sure about the contrast but I find it compelling.

I don't like the high-key on this.
