day 1 - footbridge.jpgby rachelellenComment: it looks a bit spooky the way you've processed it .. and it reminds me a lot of where i live .. the dryness you talk about and the UGLY brown grass and dusty trees ... we're just coming out'v winter and two months to go until summer ... we get those dusty trees and brown grass in summer mostly ... we have the dry creek beds too, and cattle and sheep .. altho yeseterday driving down our road, which is dirt, we looked over into the paddock running beside the road and there was a kangaroo, just sitting there looking at us ... we get a lot of them hanging around .. wild ... & they just jump thru the fences ...
loved your write up .. in fact you write a great yarn !! ... a champion speller and a great writing style seems to me to be a shoe in for a wonderful book .. (i've never written shoe in before, or even used it when talking, but i couldnt think of any other term .. hmmmm well winner would'v been easier !! ) ...:):) |

18-Years by Yankoby SandyPComment: i've looked at this one of yours before but didnt comment coz i was feeling a bit low .. when i'm feeling that way i cant put across sufficiently well how i feel about a photograph .. i'm feeling fine right now so i can say quite easily ..... BRILLIANT .. !!!
love the eyes especially ..
you are a killer photographer .. amazing .. your work with children and animals is to die for .. i think someone in the movie industry said something along the lines 'never work with children and animals' .. he couldnt have been as talented as you .. i think it may'v been alfred hitchcock !!!!! .. of course his was a different medium .. i'm being very flattering i know .. but i admire your work so much ... :) ..
anyhoooo the eyes are amazing .. how you got that white dot in the middle is literally genius .. well at my level of expertise it seems that way !! .. those whiskers are wonderful .. smudge is an absolutely fantastic subject ..:)x
edit ... i spelt smudge's name wrong .. i had smidge !! Message edited by author 2007-10-01 17:57:46. |

SkywaySunset1Crop2Web1.jpgby cogeroxComment: what a fantastic atmospheric photograph .. wonderful in b&w ...
i'm looking at your processing and i cant see where you've done the b&w conversion .. did you do it in your RAW program? ..
when we first started the last b&w side challenge in march i was converting to b&w in my RAW program ... then i got comments from a couple of ppl (ppl who do really excellent work by the way), who suggested that i do the conversion to b&w in photoshop rather than my RAW program ... if your background layer is colour in photoshop you can get so much more variation in tones and everything when you convert it b&w ... i use an adjustment layer in selective colour a lot now after converting to b&w (you can do amazing things with the individual colours that you wouldnt'v been able to do if it was already b&w) but to have any effect it has to be underneath the b&w adjustment layer (i have CS3 and my b&w conversion is an adjustment layer too) ... have a go .. and let me know wot you reckon .. :) Message edited by author 2007-10-01 14:55:37. |
