 I've really been fascinated by HDR lately and decided to go all out tonight and shoot from really dark to really light. I tried the power plant I shot for the 50 days and it looked awful. Either some pictures don't work well with HDR or I still don't have the hang of it.

This was HDR/tonemapped from 11 images. Lots of work and it looked ok but I probably could have done it with 1 image. Then I used Nik Efex Midnight Blue filter. I think it was that one but I tried so many I forget. Convert to 8 bit, dust off Virtual Photographer, and run Satin Steel filter. Then Flaming Pear Melancholytron for the vignette.

I spent a long time on this but could probably redo it in 10 minutes from a single exposure now that I know what I did!

You really out did yourself with this picture. Love the definitive lines against the overall softness of the picture.

Really cool veiling in the water, Like The star from your apreture on the lighthouse it adds a significant touch to the whole thing.

This is an absolutely gorgeous image. I agree this would win the Free Study. The colors, softness, the detail and well....everything about this image is so perfect. I'll put it into my favs as well.

OMG, Ken!!! This may be one of my favorites of my favorites in a long, long time!!! Can't you take it out here and enter it in a free study?????? You know how they looooooove water and cool skies!

Dang! This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least make a print out of it. I might just have to buy it if you did!

this is a stunning and beautiful image .. so soft and delicate ... love the vignette ... i'm a bit'v a vignette addict along with lucisart and a whole heap of other plugs .. i've just commented on amanda's photograph taken at the same place, i think .. love both photographs .. both so different .. :)
