Ken and I went out to the lake this evening to try and catch the sunset before dinner. It was our weekly "date" night. I had intentions of trying to capture the sun setting but I saw this couple sitting along the edge of the pier and I had to get the picture.

I like the way this turned out. There is no cropping. I tried to get the lighthouse on a third and the couple on a third right out of the camera. I think I almost got it. While processing I decided after playing around with the colors that I would try this in b&w. As you can see I liked the b&w version more.

Beautiful composition -- dark, but I like it.

I love the mood it creates, it almost makes you wonder why she is sitting here, waiting for a loved one to return from sea perhaps?

Nice tonality to set this mood.

This looks nice in bw. It really sets the mood, and actually, it's almost...daunting.

Love the lines, looks great in b&w! I wouldn't mind seeing the horizon less centered :-)

Oh yes. This is awesome! No sunset needed! And, no professional tripod, huh??? That hubby of yours getting to you with his constant badgering about your tripod??? :)

Well. . on this one, who needs one, it's perfect!!

Nice candid shot. I give you credit here because you took the shot, without a professional or non-professional tripod, while lesser photographers fiddled with equipment to get the right angle.

The lines in this photo are the bomb. Very good. The person sitting is fabulously placed. Great BW treatment, too. Love this.
