Macro "On the Fly"

excellent & difficult waddy .. and they move so fast .. i've got a few on manual focus and followed them, like panning with the camera .. its very hit and miss with this sort of thing and in the camera you think you've got a keeper and then when you get it on the computer you realise that the focus is on his legs rather than his eyes and its into the recycle bin it goes .. you must be very very very patient to wait till one goes in the exact spot .. :)
i was very happy when i got some a couple of months back .. this one and this one .. they've both been heavily photoshopped like combining of more than one photograph but the second one has the originals in the photographer's comments and camera settings .. they were amazing little bugs .. so incredibly small .. havent succeeded in doing it again .. the fact that i was sitting down with the camera resting on my legs helped a lot .. i couldnt stand holding my camera unsupported for that length of time .. :)

OMG .. i cant imagine how scared that poor wasp was to have you in its face especially as he couldnt fly away .. at least you got an excellent shot of his discomfort .. interesting to see the differences on the wasps where you live and the ones on our firetrail .. :)

it makes me think of autumn and plants withering away .. the way you've aligned the flower with its head down intensifies the feeling .. sad .. the curls of the petals form interesting shapes .. excellent details and colours .. :)

this is amazing .. the wasp is perfect in every way .. all the focus concentrated just on her/him .. I LOVE THE BORDER .. and i'm usually not all that keen on the larger more dramatic ones .. this one seems just about metallic and it really makes your photograph pop inside it especially with the inner vignette .. the colours are stunning .. brilliant shot and process .. :) .. WOW .. !!..:)

fantastic colours .. they are beautiful and dramatic .. the way the insect is facing works so well .. the overall composition is just perfect .. i'm not that into large borders but this one seems to compliment the drama going on inside it .. excellent depth of field .. the clarity wonderfully concentrated on the bug with the details bluring everywhere else .. :)

i dont think you could crop any closer without losing a lot of quality with the grain that's already present .
its a brilliant shot of that little insect which does look like a hoverfly, altho i'm not sure ...
love those little orange 'things' on the front of his head so sharply defined and the clarity of his head and proboscis .. i like the dof as well with the foreground and background blur which concentrates my eyes on the 'action' ..
