 I'm not entirely happy with the processing but I'm tired of messing wih it.

Extension tube used.

Edit: This was taken at the indoor garden by the Indianapolis Zoo. The indoor gardens had a fall theme and this was taken inside of a shack they made to emulate a structure where spices and flowers dried. So far most of these macros were taken there. I took many pictures to get an even background, but the angle was just off when the background was right.

I like the detail, color, and the clarity of the focused petals, against the rest of the image.....

'TIMELESS' is a perfect word for this one.....

I like the mood conveyed by the withering plant.

I wonder if having a homogeneous background would be better - like it is it distracts me a bit from the plant, as I wonder where this was shot (an empty room?), which is in fact irrelevant for the "message" conveyed by the plant.

I think the processing is excellent! Only thing missing is some sort of poem about how things must die or something. :)

it makes me think of autumn and plants withering away .. the way you've aligned the flower with its head down intensifies the feeling .. sad .. the curls of the petals form interesting shapes .. excellent details and colours .. :)
