Silver Pheasantby skewsmeComment: Amazing clarity, detail, light, and color. I'm really surprised this didn't finish in the top ten. Just bad luck that it was such a high scoring challenge. |

Walkiesby MelethiaComment: This had to be yours. It makes me laugh. I love the composition and the b&w, and the way the bird seems to be marching along with the crowd. |

Followingby raishComment: Nice capture of beautiful ducks. I think this might have scored higher if you had cropped it to include just the duck in the foreground. It is nice and sharp with beautiful markings. But, of course, then it wouldn't have been as interesting an image -- just a pretty bird shot. |

Pelicans in the Mistby noranekoComment: Beautiful, Catherine. Beautiful birds, beautiful color, beautiful composition, and beautiful moody scene with the fog. Because of the halo along the birds breasts and below their bills, the shot looks a bit over-sharpened. I wonder if it would still be as nice an image with that halo softened a little. |

Coming in to landby SaraRComment: Nice capture. It looks like water skiing. I like the little laughing gull in the background. Too bad the wing tip is cut off. |

headfirstby krnodilComment: Karen, I love, love, love this photo. The bokeh is gorgeous and the tree and little nuthatch are in such sharp contrast to the rosy back drop. Don't you wish the whole world was like that beautiful background?! |

..people, cars, noise, peopleby dougi555Comment: I like this one a lot. It's very like one of my earliest frightening memories of Time Square. I hope you'll share the processing, and I hope this won't be DQed. (It looks like an overlay of multiple shots.) |

Crimson Finchby JuliBocComment: Originally posted by BrianR: My reason for a little soft in the focus, is the texture is lost on the breast of the bird. and how did you get an aperture of 1.8 on a lens that reads 3.5 ? |
Thanks for catching the mistake, Brian. I have corrected the lens in the image info. I was using a 50mm f1.4 prime lens. |
