Life-size Scale Modelby Rob OComment: I always find this degauss technique disturbing sometimes. Still well seen picture. Like the fact that you waited for the train. Good contrast. Highly rated. |

Alley springs mill-6693.jpgby griz210Comment: My 2 cents, first off you have a terrific starting point if you like post-processing. If you are going to post, it is best not to have a lot of contrast, because this is easy to add in but very hard to take away. Now one of the issues with this shot there isn't much dynamic light. As such even with post it might feel a little static. Not sure when this was taken, but a couple of streams of light or dappled sun on the house/trees would really lend to the shot.
As far as post, first I would have some brightness to the leaves and some contrast (just to the leaves). Next darken the lake where the house is reflected, just a bit and add some contrast. As for the building itself, just add just a tad of contrast.
Here is a quick 2 minute change with the above I listed using Nikon Capture NX. Not sure how you would go about this in Lightroom or Photoshop.
PS - If you want me to remove the image just let me know. Some people take it personally to the editing of their pictures, but considering the context of the question is seems appropriate. Message edited by author 2007-05-03 23:15:41. |

The Big Bang by DUCATISTAComment: Seems a little too studio/contrived for me, but every one has their style. Still wonderful technicals. Good control of lighting. Nice use of the frame with good use of competing elements (color and lines). The repeating circles (two full circles, plus semi-circle)is a plus. It ends up being a superb entry and very deserving of a ribbon. While it isn't for me, it still would have garnered a high rating from myself because it is quality. Congrats on the ribbon! |

Day 4 - Folds & Curvesby sherpetComment: Is this cheating using old images. :) Just kidding, the idea is to see great pictures from the members, and this is one stunning image. So good, I am going to fav it. Great contrast of lighting, wonderful lines and terrific detail. |

Classicby christie3Comment: I really love the photo on the right. I was going to give you an 8 just for that one. The one on the left feels awkward and doesn't seem to gel overall, well at least to me. Bumping down to a size. Still, an amazing shot on the right. |

Three in a Treeby Darkend_SwordComment: Wonderful composition. Focus a little soft which will probably hurt you with the votes. For me, the composition and the expression win it for me. Highly rated. |

Church Detail Day 4by jackal9Comment: Very cool shot. I think it would have done well in symmetry too. It almost feels like an infrared image. Nice control on making everything even in the frame. |
