Roses are pretty, especially the center blossom. However, the overlay you chose doesn't fit well, in my opinion. It's too harsh for a typical rose shot, and yet not harsh enough if you're really trying to contrast a grungy look with the "soft" subject. The underlying shot is a good base for this sort of effect, just maybe try a different, grungier overlay.

There's lots to like about this. Colors, tones, composition. The only distraction is the dark diagonal line in the upper right corner. Consider cloning that out, and you've got a dynamite image.
