Toggling back and forth I like the small amount of extra detail on the base that this one offers. Still it's all about the bright bits up top, and those look great in both. |

I love the furry sepals on these, but there being just two of them makes an awkward composition. |

More light!
With shots like this I tend to use a vertical composition to include more of the stem. To me it's like that rule joint rule in human portraits. When you include the bud but cut the stem, it's like cutting the flower at the joint. It just feels more natural to me. That doesn't mean I'm right though! |
