Peu d'eauby ZoomdakComment: Technically very good - nicely timed long exposure. Maybe not colorful enough to suit the average voter? |

Snow Falling on Cedarby MaryOComment: Wonderful clarity to this, and I like how the branch spreads out much like how snow crystals do. |

Willie The Pimp (Harlem, 2008)by pawdrixComment: I like how you caught the position of his feet - makes it looks like he's about to do a little dance. I find myself wishing he was a bit more isolated, without, particularly, that girl on the left coming out of his arm. |

Poetryby zxaarComment: I like your dark version better, to be honest. This one has it's charms - the nice pastel colors for one - but I find myself wishing there were more contrast and detail to be seen in the very center of the shot, all the crowded together branches and shrub. |

Winter Waterfrontby NikonJebComment: A great landscape shot with great lighting - all good. To make it stand out from the pack though, that's another thing entirely, especially in one of these huge free studies. From my perspective, the composition here is good, but it is also, to be fair, predictable. I like another commenter's suggestion you get down lower, try a different perspective. This really is a good location - maybe also try a similar shot with a wider angle, so you can get closer and not lose the breadth of view as you have here? |

May the Circle be Unbrokenby purpleflutterby13Comment: Usually zoom effects like this are really noticeable, this one is subtle - I admit I missed it when I first saw it. I gave this a 6, which for me means average-but-with-great-promise - if I had gone back to review my votes like I meant to, this one may have gotten a bump. This is really quite a lovely shot! |

The Winter Sundialby HipychikComment: I thought this was a lovely concept - the sundial. Good strong color contrasts, of the "moody" feel, which suits the battered-looking landscape. Your score is darn respectable! |

ONEby electrolostComment: Good pose you captured there, with the head in profile and one foot lifted - really gives the viewer the sense of action, even though it can't ever be anything but a static shot. I put a piece of paper at the top to get a sense of what it would look like cropped, as another commenter suggested you might do - it is possible with the crop that the goose may have been more visually isolated, without the contrasting background drawing the eye away. |

Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment: Well, you already know how I feel about this one, Rob - glad that you entered somewhere. I do like this minimalist look. It's about feeling, not about needing to see every detail. |
