I like the title and photo. Go together real well. But I think B&W would have added drama to this shot. Maybe lighten it up a little and lighten the contrast some. Good composition though with nice subject. Very much where it's at today. Maybe try a B&W and just see. Just a thought and only my opinion. But good photo. PTL7 Feel B&W would have added a couple of points for me.

Great human interest story. Title makes you wonder - friends or family?; how long have they been separated? how'd they find each other? Hope the article answers these questions. Photo - needs focus, but will give you latitude because of catching the right moment. Good execution of final finishes. PTL7

As it's cropped it's too busy. You should have zoomed back and let us see the whole tree. That would have been beautiful. Subject good. Lighting a little dark. Crop too tight. Focus good. Good shot, just not enough of it. PTL5

Rising Waters

Very interesting shot. The stuff hanging on the tree limb sticking out over the creek makes it look as if the water has been higher and is receding.

The creek above the tree in the water looks as if a dam has broken and a rush of water is coming.

The edy between the tree and the rock in the bottom corner, along with the white caps just in front make it appear that you are in a great curve just before you break into the calm of the river.

I would have cropped off at the rock and enlarged it I had to for minimum size. This photo says a lot to a persons who's been in a flood or river rafting. A photo that talks is a great photo. Good clear photo all the way. I like the little bit of darkness to the shot - it adds to the emotion. Great idea. Great composition with execellent execution. PTL9

Maybe closer up with a wide angle lens we could see more of their expressions and the fire better. Also could have used an angle shot from on the side of the men and gotten a better composition, or more enticing one. But still not that bad of a photo, especially technically. As is there's no "wow' or real attention grabber. Sorry, just my opinion. PTL5
