Maybe closer up with a wide angle lens we could see more of their expressions and the fire better. Also could have used an angle shot from on the side of the men and gotten a better composition, or more enticing one. But still not that bad of a photo, especially technically. As is there's no "wow' or real attention grabber. Sorry, just my opinion. PTL5

Shoulda taken a chance and got in closer, I don't thimk theyda minded...Some great characters there.

Would have worked better for me if you'd got closer in, so we could see the expressions on their faces properly. There's too much dead space to have that "front page" impact.

Very newsworthy.

this composition's right, but with that many faces i really want to see them better, guess you need the banner to explain the shot though.

hope you honked your horn when taking this!

I give this a full ten, as it is probably the only entry I can relate to as newsworthy. Shame its rather grainy.

Bit fuzzy.

Looks more like a Bar B Que to me.

Sunflare complicated my image too :(. Way to be on topic though!

too far away too grainy nothing happening in it through the brazier would have made a better shot

Good find. Justine

A different angle would've been better. There's a story here, though, so you get points for that.

A tighter crop would make this image better.

IMO the relationship between the title and picture are key elements in this challenge. Good subject, too bad you couldn't have been a little closer and got a better exposure. It looks like the overcast day should have produced better colors and clarity.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the building behind them was on fire?
Good choice of subject

Nice picture. I like the framing on this shot. The focus is a little soft but I don't think it hurts the shot much, if any. It's a very nice candid shot of these brave fellows who deserve a little face time. - Inspzil

Good idea... I would have tried zooming in. Good try!

A bit grainy, and possibly over sharpened. (The smoke looks like a sharpening routine has been run. Legal but blotchy results.) Are these guys on strike? Seeking donations? You are on the right track to a really good pic. Just needs a little more. 6.
