Love the spread of the open wingspan of this bird! I see it and it just speaks the word 'soar' to me; free to travel the winds. Colors are beautiful too. My only plaint is that the backdrop of the white environment seems very stark & barren and that is at odds with the 'spread my wings to soar the wild blue yonder' imagery I feel when I look at your main subject in full glory.

I like how you captured this young mail lion in the action of prowling the savanna. The angle of the capture also adds interest for he is heading in the direction off to the far left. It makes me wonder what he sees; what is he about to do? The audience waits for the lion's next action. A great above average shot (bumping to 7) but there is some room for improvement. Bring us closer to this big cat - show us more details of it's wild beauty. As the composition stands now the top 1/3 of the composition does nothing to complement the scene. If there was a lone tree or animal herds in the distance then there would be some complementry elements to the scene, but there is not. Crop that out and reconfigure the crop so that it remains the same aspect ratio and size of this horizontal presentation. Keep some of the savanna evirons of the grasslands but make this big cat bigger and more up close & personal. Do that and I think this composition will rocket up into the 9-10 category.

Love the colors & details in the frog. I also find the rich red hue of the tulip and the texture on its petals stunning. Lighting is excellent. This little froggie is just hanging out in the soft petals of this flower. One little critique - while the red and green pop visually off the black backdrop the problem with this overhead shot is that it looks like both subjects are just hanging in space. At first look that does not bother me because I am dazzled with the color and sight of the frog, but on a longer look something just looks odd about the arrangement. Mayhap it would be more 'grounded' away from a weightless gravity if the angle changed slightly to included the stem in the composition. Still this is a definately on the high end of the charts.

Nice twist on this portrait of a child. The looking back and upside down shot is very visually interesting to me. A different angle and something new to be enjoyed. And wow! just look at those gorgeous big eyes and lovely lashes. It is those eyes that really grab and hold my attention. Nice catchlights in the eyes as well. The B&W tones are spectacular; the perfect range of dynamic tones. This is a unique, well composed, and well captured portrait.

I remember seeing the various shots of this photo shoot and while this is top notch work I like the expressions and poses of the earlier challenge shot. In the earlier one the kid had this devil may care expression and attitude - channeling some vibes from James Dean Rebel Without a Cause/ or Easy Rider. Here the kid looks about to cry as he steps off his bike to talk to the officer which does not coincide with the tough guy look in the dudes he wears and the mean tattoos on his arm (nice detail to have him wear the costume tattoo sleeves). Still, concept, image clarity, details and compositional elements all are great:-) High marks ...although not as high as the earlier one I liked more;-)

I think I remember a description saying that this was a lighthouse. It looks to be the loneliest lighthouse on the planet. The icy region looks cold and very lonely for anyone set to do lighthouse duty. I can see a ship way off in the distance enshouded in the haze of the morning light. Love the colors and details of stones in this structure. The extended 'arm' that would hold the guiding light almost takes on aspects of a fishing rod. It would be interesting to see this scene at night with the light lighted, but that may be difficult or not advisable due to freezing chill:-) Very beautiful shot.

The balance of highlights and shadows is excellent in this predominately white composition. Not only a study of lines and shapes in this museum structure but also a really cool architectural shot. I really like how you composed the shot such that the main strut lines extend out to the top left corner; the line fan out on a diagonal with the 'branches' coming extending out to make triangular patterns. Opposite the straight lines are the curves seen not only in the circle adorned walls but in the curve at the top of that wall as it bends.

Great title thats plays into the cultural tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. You show me this woman at work weaving but you do so at an angle that is visually interesting. I get to see the patterns and the threads that either can be seen as extending out towards me or that my eye travels down the leading lines to see her hands at work. A very National Geographic type of shot capturing mood, feel, and culture of this asian region. Would be most curious to find out where this location is once rollover happens.

I like the leading lines of the train track the lead off to the vanishing point to the center of the photo. A picture showing the industrial elements of civilization. It is also blanketed in snow which in many cases makes the scenes look beautiful. One thing that strikes me is the stark loneliness - nothing is stirring (with the exception of the smoke stack), nothing is moving. The train is absent, there are no people. It is an lonely place. Funny enough I just did a class presentation of Edward Hopper's painting titled Approaching the City - the loneliness of the scene is comparable to his. One big problem with the visual is there is a ton of visible noise - red and faint blue noise is highly evident in the sky but I can see it in the snowy ground as well. Running this through a good noise reduction program would improve the imagery.

Wonderfully sharp details in this cheetah as it prepares to make the dash that captures it's dinner. Love the colors and shapes (spots) on this animal.
