The Light Belowby SandyPComment: Congratulations on your excellent finish! This is a great photo full of excellent detail and colors. The focus is spot on. Composition is good. Ratio between subject and negative space and subject placement is perfect. Very well done!
Question: You left this out of the details, what lense did you use? Message edited by author 2005-12-28 20:05:26. |

Dendrophobiaby messerschmittComment: Congrats on your finish! Very well done photo. Processing is well done and certainly adds to the force of the scene. I really like the feel when viewing this shot - sometimes up and sometimes down. It just draws you in. Again, well done! |

Stairway to Heavenby SJCarterComment: Should have done better. Lighting is very well controlled in this shot. Exposure could not have been easy since it appears you were handheld (walking tour...). The framing of the staircase is excellent. I really like how you offset its placement just a little and not more. The candle on the seat is a nice lead in. You are drawn to the stairs, look at that candle and the follow it right up. Almost like you are walking down the hall and around the bannister yourself. And the light at the top takes you off the stairway. Very nice lead through. The post processing helps make this as well. More color would be distracting and less would be flat. A very nice balance between desat/sepia and color tone. Well done Mr. Carter! |

Window to Blueby SandyPComment: This is an excellent photo with quite a feel to it. The plant just seems to be reaching right through the frames/screen. Great clarity, excellent DoF, good colors! Well done! |

Night Splashby SandyPComment: Sorry this got a DQ. I really like how you handled the lighting in this shot. The exposure time was perfect - just enough blur/motion in the water. Good work! |

Buchanan Theatreby SJCarterComment: Ah...I get a transition of time from this shot. Very nostalgic and very well done. The lettering and sign have an almost 'neon' feel to them which I think is where I get this transitional feel from it. Still in the 50's, but want to be in the 60's look. Very nice overall composition - again your approach and angle of perspective really set it up well. Well done Jimmy! |

Trinity Episcopal Churchby SJCarterComment: I think you have blended the hard natural lines with the processing technique to perfection in this one! Very well done and perfectly represents your subject. I also like the balance with the negative space in the sky - really adds a lot to the overall impression of the building. Very well done! |
