One of a series of shots taken of historic downtown Buchanan buildings (originally commissioned Christmas presents, but plan to use them in other ways now too).

I knew that your average run-of-the-mill photograph wasn't really the recipient's cup of tea, so thought that an antique "pen & ink" look would be the way to go. I really like the way the first four have turned out, so plan to add to the series. I think that they have a lot of mass appeal in this neck of the woods - the whole "historic" thing...

Thanks Maryanne & Mom!!! :-)

PP included a LOT! There are utility lines EVERYWHERE in town and I spend untold hours meticulously erasing them pixel by pixel, trying carefully not to get bricks or shadows or tree limbs out of alignment. Sometimes I was more successful than others - lol.

Filters used (varying transparencies of selective layers): photocopy, glow:edges, accent edges, glow:neon, poster edges, cutout, backlit, negative, B/W, antique, Neat Image.

wow. This is extremely well done especially considering the detail. Very good work! One thing you might think about is applying a 'wash' of color, either in photoshop or after printing (glossy paper wouldn't work I guess). I think these would be perfect for that technique. Very cool.

I like the angle you shot this from. Again, good work on removing power lines, etc. This one is my favorite of the four

One of the things I like about your photography is how you manage to get just the right perspective in your images. Another excellent image Mr. Carter! Your ability to grasp and master new styles and produce excellent images amazes me!

With the original I am surmising I would say the foreground is a little busy. However, on this rendition, it adds so much to the overall feel of the shot. This new processing technique really goes well with your approach! Looking forward to more! Very well done!

Although the subjects and composition are very good in each, I think that this is my favourite out of the four posted here. The other three seem to have parts of the images almost dominated by some thick lines, which, I feel, detract from the subtle feel. Perhaps these lines could be toned down a little. Nice work.

I think this is my favorite of the series you posted so far and it appears that others have the same feeling. Would love to see an alternate version with some light coloring to it. I can't even imagine the time and effort you put into doing just one of these shots, let alone a whole series. Kudos to you!

I think this on eis my favourite of the series. Even though there it is quite busy in the lower section it really works when you just sit back and stare at it. Good work.

I like this one very much, the placemnt of the house with the lamp appeals to me. I am usually a big fan of full color images, so the fact that I like this actually means something :o)

My fav, but this has more to do with the house! The effect is pretty cool for the whole series.
