One of a series of shots taken of historic downtown Buchanan buildings (originally commissioned Christmas presents, but plan to use them in other ways now too).

I knew that your average run-of-the-mill photograph wasn't really the recipient's cup of tea, so thought that an antique "pen & ink" look would be the way to go. I really like the way the first four have turned out, so plan to add to the series. I think that they have a lot of mass appeal in this neck of the woods - the whole "historic" thing...

Thanks Maryanne & Mom!!! :-)

PP included a LOT! There are utility lines EVERYWHERE in town and I spend untold hours meticulously erasing them pixel by pixel, trying carefully not to get bricks or shadows or tree limbs out of alignment. Sometimes I was more successful than others - lol.

Filters used (varying transparencies of selective layers): photocopy, glow:edges, accent edges, glow:neon, poster edges, cutout, backlit, negative, B/W, antique, Neat Image.

I think you have blended the hard natural lines with the processing technique to perfection in this one! Very well done and perfectly represents your subject. I also like the balance with the negative space in the sky - really adds a lot to the overall impression of the building. Very well done!

Really like this shot. The tree to the left is perfect framing for this cute little church. The lines are so well defined, almost gives it a 3D feel.

This is one of my favorites from your series. I really like the subtleness of the lines combined with the subject. Its so detailed and somewhat harsh, yet still relaxed and inviting. The framing with the tree on the left is fantastic clarity yet the ones in the back are more out of focus which is what most folks get with church anyway, Now this could be my attention to detail or a secondary meaning, either way its very powerful in my book!

I'm not sure if I like the lines so strong on this one or not. I'm in two minds. It looks like a really nice little church and location. You've done really well to try something different in this series of photos and they look great. Well done.
