Mississippi Deltaby sherComment: A great subject with wonderful detail, texture, colour and complexity. Nice choice to have the spokes of the nearest wheel create strong diagonals from the corner and frame the second wheel. |

Architectual curves 1 by kosmikkreeperComment: Beautiful! The structure itself is enhanced so much by the quality of light and the cloud in the sky provides a perfect backdrop. You've chosen the time of day so well. Composition, sweeping down from the top left to the lower right corner, is very strong. This is wonderful. |

Chrome Mustangby moodvilleComment: That's amazing! But I do feel that I'm admiring the creativity of the sculptor more than the photographer here. That said, I like your decisions on how close to go, how much to include around the subject within the frame and to opt for black and white. The reflections, particularly in the head area, are wonderful. |

Engineering Excellence Painted International Orangeby sfaliceComment: Nice viewpoint and I like the way you have kept the vertical vertical and made such a striking diagonal from the horizontal. My main suggestion would be to shift to the left a little - crop a little from the right and include a touch more on the left so that the diagonal flies right over to the top left corner. |

Boomby aKiwiComment: Hooray! Another idea that doesn't rely on faces expressing surprise, anger, shock, terror... this is a creative entry and I love the geometric composition - the blue semi-circle dissected by that strong horizontal line and then the asymmetrical match and flame. Wonderful! |

The Old Man and the Seat.by JoelHSmithComment: A beautiful portrait though not one that makes me think about what is happening off-screen since his expression leads me to believe he is reliving memories from a less lonely time and not looking at his surroundings much at all. That may not be the case but it's what the image suggests to me. I do like the image very much. |

That's one big...by jonpinkComment: Another more unusual entry - so many images of people looking angry, scared, surprised etc at something off screen - this one is more original and a stronger image outside the context of the challenge. Light seems a little harsh - his hands are partially merging into the background. |

Spider Mumby admart01Comment: This is a very pretty image and I gave it a 6. I might have given it a higher score in another challenge since it doesn't happen to speak to me of silence as much as many other entries. Since all inanimate objects, including flowers, are "silent" my feeling was, in challenge theme terms, that you could just as easily enter an image of a toaster or shoe (not that these might be so appealing visually).
In terms of the image itself, I really like the hints of green and purple in the longer, outer petals and the way that these outer petals have a slighly faded aspect compared with the central area. I also like the off-centre composition which I think is just right. |
