Too Fine a Pointby welcherComment: You definately got your point across. (I'm sure you haven't heard that before LOL) Great shot of the clear point and the soft focus going back to the eraser works very nicely. The lighting is great and I like how the pencil and shavings look like they are the only thing in the world. Your title reminds me of a song from TMBG that says "not to put too fine a point on it, you're the only bee in my bonnet..." Love that song...wonder what happened to that CD. Anyway, I can see this as an ad or a poster with "What's your point?" Written in the space at the top. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Walking Stickby darylbrownComment: we used to make these in elementary school. very cute. creative use of a pencil. lighting and frame placement are good. I like how he's standing on kind of a little hill. his legs are just bright enough that they don't blend in with the background. great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Ticonderoga Cutting by mcmurmaComment: The clarity of this is very nice. Great focus. Lighting is perfect. Originality and creativity both apply nicely here. I like the placement within the frame. I notice a few reflections in the very bottom of the glass, but they aren't distracting at all. Actually, they add a bit of color to the photo. Also, the light glare on the top of the glass is used very nicely in this photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Self Portrait No. 2by chakkobboComment: I like the angle this was done at and I like that the pencil is parallel to the bottom of the photo. This is a really cool idea. The lighting is great and there are no disturbing shadows or bright spots that take away from the photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Find the Pencilby #1 Bronco FanComment: I think this would have been a bit more amusing if the pencil were actually hidden to be able to "find". The lighting on this is great. no distracting shadows or bright spots. Did you do some post editing to color? The orange/red on the sides looks a bit overdone. That could have been an upload thing though. The angle is good and the positioning is a bit too far to the left. Good luck in the challenge. |

threeby FranziskaLangComment: Simple but very nice. The clarity is great on those tips. I like how it fades away with the green one in the back. Lighting is great and the colors are very nice. I was kind of wondering though, why you used 2 primary colors and 1 secondary color? yellow, red and blue would be the logical combination of colors, but maybe how you have it, it was a better visual combination. I wasn't saying it was a bad thing, just wondering if you did it that way on purpose or not. Great photo and good luck in the challenge. |

I still need my pencil.by jenaromComment: Your product looks like the solar system. That has no bearing on anything, I just thought I'd mention that. lol. Lighting, angle and focus are great. I like the idea behind your photo too. With all this technology, we still hold onto the "primative" things. Overall great photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

17 across.... BEACHby karen_vComment: I liked all the crossword photos this week. They remind me of my grandpa who carried one with him everywhere. This is a lovely background, and great addition of the sea shells to the foreground. Looked like a very nice day. Is that the ocean? Being from Michigan, I've seen my fair share of water and beaches. I've never seen the ocean though. Lighting, angle and focus are great. Good luck in the challenge. |

Pencil Holderby normwComment: Great angle. At first, I thought the pencil was a bit dark, but then I was thinking. It just got jabbed through a tomoto. Why would it be all bright and shiny. Placement is very visually powerful. A little puzzled by the horizontal flow of juice. The background fits this very nicely. I think the light glare adds to the photo in this case. Very powerful shot. Good luck in the challenge. |
