Great clarity and focus on this. The white balance is pretty good, although the white has a slight cool (bluish) cast to it. I'm wondering if you used flash on this - at first glance it would appear to be yes (glint in eye, slight glare on lower beak), but the shutter speed is throwing me off. Would have thought the shutter speed to be higher than 1/60 - reduced for fill flash in low light situation perhaps? :-)

Compositionally I would have trimmed a bit off the left to try and bring the eye more to a ROT point. Just a thought.

I do have to say I'm a tad jealous of the location! Hawaii, eh? Nice. Been there twice, last time in the last 80's.

I'm also a tad embarrassed to just now notice you've been tossing some challenge entries into the mix recently - I should know what my 'Fav' photographers are up to! :P

Hope all is well with you. Take care.

Hmmm...there's so many places this photo could originate from. Could be a good excuse to wander around downtown for a bit. :D Probably tucked away in somebodies backyard, eh?

Great color in this, and I really like the reflection. Well seen and captured.

Take care.

That youngster wouldn't be pounding on the glass now would (he/she - sorry hard to tell)? :D The motion blur of the hand actually adds interest to this story. Would it be nice if "Snobby" wasn't blurry? Yes, but it's not a major ding on your score. Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge.

This is a very nice find and a good eye to see it. I can't help but wonder if there is another time of day (more flattering light, perhaps some clouds, and glassy still water) to revisit this and possibly another angle (higher elevation to eliminate distant shoreline). It's a nice shot overall but leaves me wanting more. Good luck in the challenge.

What a wonderful find, and nicely captured too! The color tones work well together (blue/grey). Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Congratulations on getting a nice photo without post-processing. Would be excellent for a 'Minimal Editing' challenge. As it is, you're competing in the 'Advanced' ruleset. Some minor tweaks to this would place it substantially higher in the final voting results IMO. BTW - the long descriptive titles - they usually hinder more than help with many voters. Just an observation.

Overall, a very nice photo. Good luck in the challenge.

Cute idea and nearly pulled off. Whatever is holding the falling petal is distracting - I'd have cloned that out. Same with the seam in the middle of the table running under the vase. The flowers themselves are well lit and focused. The horizon line of the table is running off to the right (rotate counter-clockwise about 2 degrees to straighten out). Close, but not quite there (the small details are important). Good luck in the challenge.

This has a nice abstract feel to it. The DOF works well here. Good luck in the challenge.
