Winter Roseby AranchaComment: nice image with a good bokeh--not too much, not too little. the problem with the image is the general composition of your subject. by centering it the way you have, you have created a horizon that is splitting the image in the middle, leaving your bokeh at the top and the under-exposed bottom of the flower below. it's a shame, because the water drops and textures in the lighter areas have a lot of promise. good luck! |

Lightsby GautiComment: this is a nice, simple, clean image. i like the colors and the general composition. i usually don't care about borders one way or another, except when they are overdone (and i think this is a bit overdone). good luck! |

Until Next Yearby karmatComment: good work here. too bad the focus is so soft on the subject...just kidding!!! your background spots of light are a bit strong, but within reason. good overall choice of colors. good luck! |

Remnantsby connieComment: this is an excellent image with great bokeh. you probably could have saturated the leaf just a tad more to offer a bit more contrast, but all the same, this rocks! excellent work, hope to see you on the front page! |

"Veuve Clicquot", when you want to see Bubbles...by doctornickComment: yes, you have achieved techical bokeh, but, to me, it is providing more of a distracting background than an enhancing one. maybe with a little more light on the bottle, and if the glass had been placed so that it isn't swallowed by the background, it would have worked. as is, it's a bit too busy. good luck! |

After the rainby PixelstateComment: yes, you have acheived technical bokeh, but, unfortunately, you have not put it to good use... here, the background is more of the subject than the leaf, and that's too bad. this is one image where you really could have taken advantage of advanced editing rules. if you had boosted the saturization on the leaf itself and cropped off the right 2/3s of the image, you would have had something to capture attention and entertain the eyes...as is, my eyes wander, searching for a subject. good luck! |

Winter Berriesby dartompkinsComment: you have done a great job here in terms of composition and meeting the challenge. your bokeh not only enhances the image, but is interesting and diverse. kudos to that. my problem is that your focus on your subject is a bit on the soft side. that is one thing that really takes away from an otherwise excellent entry. |

Ahoy There !by kevrobertsonComment: your lighting here, if you haven't been told already, is a bit too strong. it's always easier to recover from underexposure than overexposure, but there are some tricks that you can use under advanced editing to correct this...
the image is cute and works well with the background. as a rule, though, centered focus doesn't make for the most interesting images because that tends to put the subject in your face without inviting your eyes to wander around. good luck! |
