Yes, we still have our Christmas tree up. Last year I believe it was March before it finally came down. :-)

I thought of this shot about an hour after classy christmas decorations ended, so decided to go ahead and do it now. That, and it was the only thing I figured made sense in front of the Christmas lights. Started to shoot a Hershey Kiss, but it just didn't compose right to me.

Cropped, Played with saturation and white balance. Cloned out some loose glitter particles. USM, NeatImage. I think that is it.

I think this would look better if the ornament was a brighter red, and the lights were colored instead of all white.

Bad bokeh on the lens, but good understanding of what it is supposed to be. :) I love the feel of this shot. The lighting is a bit off for me. But since I'm not sure how I'd change it, I'll leave that alone. I love the composition here. I still have my tree up. I really need to take it down.

Probably my favorite of the bunch. Some people may think it's too "ordinary" to score it high but it's a very well shot image with good lighting and bokeh. This would make a beautiful holiday card.

good work here. too bad the focus is so soft on the subject...just kidding!!! your background spots of light are a bit strong, but within reason. good overall choice of colors. good luck!

Strong image. Nice FG, exactly the right DOF and nice bokeh. Good. Few minor nags: border cuts through light-blob at Top L and just R of top middle. Slightly different crop would fix that. Also my eye seems to be drawn towards the small point of light between the leaves in lower L.
Overall: Very good. /8

Nice holiday shot. Demonstrates the challenge well. Background is also connected to the subject for extra umph. I would have tied a ribbon to the ornament. You would have given my holiday shot a run for the money. Good luck.

This is my favorite and a winner, your composition is perfect, the rich red of the ornament is stunning, I would call this a "WOW" shot. 10

Outstanding. I could see this on a Christmas card or in an advertisement for wine or whatever. Beautifully composed and executed. A fine example of "good bokeh" IMO.

timely and lovely, rich colors and good lines. I wish the lights were a bit more varied and that we could make out a bit more of what made up the bokeh, but that is nitpicking. 8

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Textbook bokeh shot here. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Definietly. Well done. This would have scored highly in classy holiday decorations too, I think!

True bokeh, and beautifully lit. IMO it's a pity the bokeh highlights are such a harsh white.
