Hoops (Adjusted)by wbanningComment: These swirls look like those in a previous picture. Here you've taken an abstract path, and with good results. The white lines do a good job of corralling the center, and leads our attention to the shadow of the sign -- or basketball backboard, as I first thought. It's interesting how shadows can appear to be a separate layer, and I see that plainly where the sign shadow intermingles with the ground's striations. An image definitely worth considered examination. |

Simplisticby digifotojoComment: Creamy, delicate and lovely study. So much elegance here. I see a woman wrapping her arms around herself, shy but not scared. I like the soft green and its hidden transition to white. Also, the calla is artfully positioned. |

Mar 08 - Downby hajekaComment: A group of independent souls that seem to hang together in composition, within the larger composition, as busy as it is. The semi-symmetry and lines may be accountable for this impression. Still, there's a kind of industrial feel, like it's an assembly line or a sorting facility. Is this modern life with the veil ripped away? This may sound kind of negative, but they're just musings. I like the image and enjoy trying to understand my reactions to it. Lovely assortment of tones in this b & w scene. |

Grand Openingby JuliBocComment: A night on the town with futuristic overtones -- the hulking, green-lit building and the sweeping beacons. These beacons seem ominous, but I like the expanse of sky and the overhead wires delicately highlighted by them. The structure dwarfs its neighbors like a battleship. |

the tongueby rozComment: Interesting experiment. It reminds me of old-fashioned text books. I like the back and forth motion it sets up as I check out the comparison. The barbs on Molly's tongue are amazing. This approach seems fruitful. |

Air Mailby pmichaudComment: I'm not a fan of the processing, but there's a great sense of the sunny, cold, windy day, and maybe the processing has contributed to that. I do like the colors, and your background story gives warmth to the image. |

Sleeping on His New Bedby pmichaudComment: An endearing portrait. It's an interesting composition, somewhat dizzying with the downward perspective, Avalanche's position, the thrown shadows and the assortment of lines. There's a softness here that brings out a dreamy feel, perhaps in keeping with his slumber. So much more than simple. Strong image. |

waitingby mariucaComment: When you situate yourself behind a person the viewer then advances into his or her mind and body, assuming his, in this case, world. Here I feel his calm watchfulness, slender body at ease, the aromas of fruit and the street. Okay, it's quite subjective, but still it's an opportunity to stretch your imagination and empathy. And okay, this can happen with anyone in an image, but I still think the behind view is naturally compelling.
Here I'm enjoying how the lines of placards and produce extend to an unseen vanishing point. Also the many reds spread throughout the scene. Also, as per your theme of "Food and Eating", the notice taken of the buying of ingredients, an essential stage that makes possible the meal. |

waiting.DSCF7015by mariucaComment: Fine depth here, and the sense of story takes me searching out all the details. Lots of lines to notice, directing and misdirecting. Calm and timeless. |

mollyby rozComment: This fine portrait, with Molly's amazing eyes tight to the top, is powerful in its intensity. I feel that she's trying to hypnotize me. Yes, your worship, tuna and mice, right away. Whoo, got to shake out of her dominion. I love the detail. My favorite touch is the sparkle along the edge of her tongue. |
