Smell The Flowersby Spanish_GreaseComment: Lovely desat shot but if I were to list all the word that came into my head to describe this shot I think I would get half way through the dictionary before I got to the word freedom. IMHO you missed the challenge but got a shot that would ribbon in many other challenges. |

It's What's On The Inside That Countsby C-town driverComment: Well lit but the DOF is too short for this sort of shot. Either make everything in the shot razor sharp, or tighten it up so the product is the only thing in focus, as it is with the foreground in and the backround out the eye tends to bounce around a bit too much. It is a small quible in a good overall shot. |

Too Hot to Candle!by BearSilberComment: Pretty shot, but too soft and not product specific for this challenge. Nice color grouping, might be better in the other challenge "purple" as it is the color palate that I like best here. |

All Naturalby briphotoComment: nice idea, well framed, but a bit of fill light to soften the shadows on the product would have helped, just a bit of light where the grapes put that hard shadow line on the bottom of the container and it would be fine. |

Porsche 911 GT2by mpphotowerksComment: the white lines on the pavment really hurt this shot, If you couldn't get rid of them you might put them at the front wheel so it might look ( sorta) like a starting line. Other than that a nice composition, but it is tough to shoot a hot car as well as we see them in the advertisments. |

Somewhere in the middleby BrennanOBComment: Thanks for all the kind words and comments. I knew that this entry was just skirting the challenge limitations, and as a result it was scoring about a 5.5 before it was verified. I know some people don't care for a gimicky shot like this, but I'm guessing some voters scored it low because they thougt it was in violation of the basic editing rules. That said I am quite pleased with a top ten finish and pleased that my three favorites are all in the top ten as well.
Beagleboy, I used capture one's white balance and the color looked fine on my monitor, but since it is early in the summer swim season her hair shouldn't be green yet. I looked on my wife's monitor, and ya I see your point. Looks like a new monitor will be needed, but would really rather spend any spare cash on some L glass.
Photom and Jesuispeure, both comments are quite right and were dealt with as far as possible in the "corrected and illegal" version that I have printed out for her grandmother for whom this was really intended.
If you don't understand how I got this shot and would like to see the setup from a step or two backward. it becomes easier to see. //www.pbase.com/image/30249691

Dreams vs. Career by aaronb532Comment: Colors are a bit flat, and the suit jacket rides a bit too far to the left. However this is still my favorite in the challenge, great choice of subject, well executed. If you had gotten rid of the blue in the laptop or used it again in the uniformor as the batting glove it could have been a bit better balanced, but a very good shot anyway. |

A Long Test Aheadby TranquilComment: while it is in my top three I think this could have used a bit more DOF and a bit more hand in the frame. Never the less great idea, well executed. |
