This certainly did not deserve the lower scores it was given. I agree though that a bit more DOF would have been good. Also the left edge is pretty distracting--that could have been cropped.

Sand and Sea

Return for comment. Great scene and great long exposure to show wind. To me, the sand is the highlight, and the strong contrast of the clouds weakens that a bit. In fact, the sky/clouds is so contrasty, it looks a bit unnatural. Had you burned it it more, darker blue, it would have competed less with the sand. Constructive criticism aside, it's a strong photo, worthy of an 8.

Return for comment. I like the real feel of wind and "g" force here. To me the composition is a small issue as pretty much your subject (facial features) are almost dead center). I could see this with a lot more negative space, and it would be stronger. Still a solid effort earned an 8 from me.
